Talking of Australia, I have finally found myself in agreement with Sue Kedgley - it's on the point that a New Zealander should be included on the independent committee that undertakes the comprehensive review of food labelling law and policy. I am certainly not as relaxed about this as our food safety minister Kate Wilkinson.
However, I continue to find myself in disagreement with Kedgley on her repeated attempts to create fears about the safety of our food in an effort to promote country of origin labelling. If you examine the history of this, the Green MP is simply trying to relicate the campaign that Australia producers use to establish their current COOL system which is best summed up by the phase "local and imported ingredients".
